To get to Punta Ahuano, small port located on the Napo River, were the motorized canoes are located from Quito or Baños, you have three options:
QUITO – PUNTA AHUANO
- Public bus, you take a bus in Quito that goes to Tena (6-hour ride). Once there, you change to another bus station called “Centinela del Tena” and take a bus to Punta Ahuano (60-minute ride) or you can take a Taxi, they charge US$15.00 (30 minute, the ride up to 4 persons).
- Shared Shuttle, this service picks you up at where you are staying in the city of Quito. Between 4 to 5 a.m. and brings you directly to Punta Ahuano in 4 hours. The price is US$30.00 per person the ride
- Private Driver, he picks you up at 8:00 a.m. at where you are staying in Quito and brings you to Punta Ahuano in less than 4 hours. The price from 1 to 4 persons is US$120.00, up to 8 persons is US$180.00 and up to 15 persons it’s US$340.00.
BAÑOS – PUNTA AHUANO
- Public bus, you take a bus in Baños that goes to Tena (hopefully between 5:30 am.) to 6:00 a.m. (4-hour ride). Once there, you change to another bus station called “Centinela del Tena” and take a bus to Punta Ahuano (60-minute ride) or you can take a Taxi, they charge US$15.00 (30 minute, the ride up to 4 persons).
- Shared Shuttle, this service picks you up at where you are staying in the city of Baños around 5:30 a.m. and brings you directly to Punta Ahuano in 3 and half hours. The price is US$25.00 per person the ride
- Private Driver, he picks you up at 9:00 a.m. at where you are staying in Baños and brings you to Punta Ahuano in less than 3 hours. The price from 1 to 4 persons is US$100.00.
For option 2 or 3, we can arrange the reservation. You tell us where you will be staying in Quito or Baños, exact address, Google Maps location and contact phone number or WhatsApp. This information can be given to us up to 120 hours (5 days) before your trip to the Lodge.
In Punta Ahuano there are motorized canoes that bring you to Anaconda Island for the value of US$20.00 the ride, not per person (maximum 10 people),
The price of the transport is NOT included in the rates of Lodging. It’s an extra value that the passenger pays directly to the driver.
